The VSCC’s Pomeroy Trophy takes place at Silverstone this weekend, bringing one of the most unique motorsport tests back to the Northamptonshire circuit.
Tests include braking, handling and acceleration as well as the infamous suitcase test, where entrants are required to carry two standard sized suitcases. Cars range from some fantastic pre war models, just a few of this years entrants include a Vauxhall 30-98 OE Velox 1924, a 1934 Aston Martin Mark IIL, a 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider and a 2017 Citroen C1.
New this year is the side by side event of the Toyota GB’s Parallel Pomeroy Trophy, the trophy or ParaPom as it has been dubbed is open to any model or age Toyota. Using similar tests as those in the Pomeroy Trophy and the same judges, the ParaPom looks set to be quite a draw for Toyota clubs and entrants keen to get on track in a one of a kind event.
The Pomeroy really is a must see event for any vintage car enthusiast and great way to shake off the pre season blues at Silverstone. The Pomeroy Trophy takes place this Saturday 16th February and is free for spectators, gates open at 8am.
