In the penultimate round of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB series it was joy for Zamparelli as he took a double win putting him very strongly in contention for the title alongside Charlie Eastwood, while Dan Cammish hopes for a record breaking third title are all but dashed as he sits 40 points below Eastwood and Zamperelli, and only a maximum of 40 points left up for grabs in the final rounds at Brands Hatch.
While two podium places for Tio Ellinas, third in race one and second in race two found him crowned the Rookie Champion ahead of the final round.
The wet conditions at Silverstone were difficult initially for first race pole sitter Cammish as he struggled to maintain grip, quickly being passed by Zamparelli then Ellinas however he was soon to get on top of the conditions passing Ellinas and setting a fastest lap in the race before crossing the line in second place just behind Zamparelli and ahead of Ellinas.
Race two found Eastwood quickly take the lead, passing Cammish who swiftly repaid the move, holding that position until a fire in his car in lap 21 forced his retirement. The top three remained in position after the yellow flag with Zamparelli crossing the line fractions of a second ahead of Ellinas then Eastwood.
The deciding round of Porsche Carrera Cup GB takes place on September 30th October 1st at Brands Hatch.
