As the Superbike Championship moves to Silverstone next weekend there is all to play for, for the first time ever there is no rider confirmed for the title in the decider. With seven different race winners across the season, BSB fans are in for a weekend of hard fought racing.
The triple header sees Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne on the top of the standings with 219 points but just ten points ahead of Leon Haslam. Third in the standings is Peter Hickman on 193 points.
Byrne had a disappointing last few rounds including technical issues with his bike in race two at Cadwell Park forcing the defending champion to retire from the race. While Haslam who won race one at Cadwell also suffered problems in race two forcing him to run off into the grass and out of the race.
Hickman is in his strongest position ever to make a move into the Showdown six, scoring a win at Thruxton and a podium place at Cadwell Park.
With the likes of Luke Mossey, who fights back after a crash at Thruxton that also saw his withdrawal from the Cadwell round, Josh Brookes and Jason O’Halloran also battling to secure their place in the Decider, all eyes will be on the on track action at Silverstone for what promises to be a spectacular round of British Superbikes.
