With only 2 rounds left in the series It was a great weekend at Rockingham for Adrian Flux Subaru Racing with James Cole taking his maiden win, Ash Sutton taking the win in race two and leading the championship with 312 points. Sutton also took second place in race one and team mate Jason Plato took third step of the podium in race three.
Race two also found Matt Jackson in the Team Shredded Wheat Racing Ford Focus taking second place ,with Colin Turkington in third. Halfords Yuasa Honda team of Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal were both in for a bad day at the office with neither finishing after separate incidents earlier in the race.
While in race three it was a delighted Andrew Jordan who took a trouble free victory eventually finishing just under 2 seconds ahead of Cicely Motorsports Adam Morgan. Jack Goff who had been fighting hard across the weekend made contact with Rob Collard, taking Collard out of the race and Goff losing his third place to Jason Plato. Plato went on to say: “We’ve had a great day – a brilliant day for the team. James’ win early on was epic and for Ash to get another win and a podium was perfect for him. We’ve got to do the best job we can for him until the end of the season. Ash represents our sponsors Adrian Flux, Subaru, Autoglym and all of our supporters. If I can’t win, the next best thing is for Ash to. We’re going to help him do that.”
With only two rounds left, the battle for the championship title revs up with just 12 points between championship leader Ashley Sutton and Colin Turkington and Gordon Shedden just 3 points behind him on 257 points.
