It was a 1-2 finish for Toyota in the World Endurance Series 6 hours of Spa with the #8 car of Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson and Kazuki Nakajima finishing just 2 seconds ahead of the #7 sister car of Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi.
While Porsche took a third and fourth finish, with the #2 919 Hybrid of Timo Bernhard, Earl Bamber and Brendon Hartley finishing over 1 minute ahead of the #1 car of Andre Lotterer, Neel Jani and Nick Tandy. The #7 Toyota TS050 HYBRID had led through much of the 6 hour race but a full course yellow half way through the race brought the #7 car into the pits in anticipation of a cautionary period while the #8 car stayed out for a further lap only pitting just after the full course yellow, reducing a 25 second deficit to 15 when Kazuki Nakajima took over.
While in LMP2 the G-Drive Oreca of Roman Rusinov, Alex Lynn and Pierre Thiriet took their first win of the season ahead of the Vaillante Rebellion of Bruno Senna, Nicolas Prost and Julien Canal with Silverstone LMP2 winners Jackie Chan
DC Racing taking the third step on the podium.
In GTE Pro it was 1-2 for AF Corse Ferrari with the Ford GT of Silverstone winning Ford Chip Ganassi team taking third and fourth place. And in the GTE AM class Aston Martin Racing took the win, with the Porsche 911 of Dempsey Proton Racing in second and Clearwater Racing’s Ferrari completing the podium in third place.
The next round is at Le Mans on June 17th-18th
