Cal Crutchlow fights to fifth on the grid for Malaysian GP

Cal Crutchlow made 5th position after breaking a bone in his left hand following a crash on Saturday. Despite his injuries he managed to get back on his damaged bike and improve his lap time in difficult conditions.

The history making LCR Honda rider won the Australian GP last weekend, the first Briton to do so. He also won the Czech GP earlier in the year becoming the first British rider to win in the premier class since Barry Sheene took the Swedish GP in 1981.

Ahead of Crutchlow on the grid is Andrea Dovizioso in pole with Valentino Rossi in second place, followed by his team mate Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez in 4th.

In the Moto 2 class Johann Zarco takes pole. The current champion who moves to the Moto GP class in 2017 with Monster Yamaha’s Tech 3 team, rode a blistering lap finishing with a time of 2:18.621, 2 seconds ahead of Franco Morbidelli with Axel Pons taking 3rd on the grid.

In Moto 3  World Champion Brad Binder is in pole position with Jakub Kornfeil and Francesco Bagnaia completing the front row.
